A 59-year-old Albanian man died yesterday morning in Italy after being hit by a van driven by a compatriot. The Albanian, who has not yet been identified, was riding a bicycle when he was hit hard by a van driven by a 28-year-old Albanian.

At 6 o'clock in the morning, the 59-year-old Albanian had left to arrive in Giugliano on his bicycle after he had to undergo some medical tests. Around 6:30 a.m. when he was traveling along the "Santa Maria a Cubito" road in the territory of Villa Literno, the Albanian was hit by a van.

The 59-year-old man died instantly from the powerful collision. In an attempt to escape, the driver of the vehicle hit another car, causing minor injuries to the driver. The driver got out of the van and left on foot, temporarily losing his tracks.

Thanks to the images taken by the security cameras, the investigators managed to discover the number plate of the van that was Albanian and then identify the driver who was also Albanian. The 28-year-old was arrested and transferred to Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison after being accused of three criminal offences.
