Air pollution in Tirana reaches the highest levels, the specialist surprises with the answer: The situation is not alarming

Tirana's air is polluted and it doesn't take much to understand it, just live a few days in the capital and you will have breathing problems. To avoid any misinterpretation and subjective opinion, Piranja collaborated with the Italian laboratory 'Neotes' by measuring the air of our capital for 8 consecutive times at 20 different points.

Results? Scandalous and far above the allowed rate. Practically, Tirana is among the most polluted cities in Europe and the world. The specialists raised the alarm, but only the response of the official authorities remained.

We went to get a statement from Ernisa Caka, the specialist at the national environment agency to get the level of air pollution in Tirana monitored by this institution. Of course, for them, there is pollution, but not at the levels that our Italian colleagues have found.

'The situation is not alarming. We do continuous monitoring, every day of 24 hours. We cannot say that there is no pollution in Tirana, but it is not at the levels you presented.

'Tirana is a city under construction, the cars also make themselves. More awareness is needed from everyone. Comparison between our analyses? We do, but they are different technologies, so there is no room for comparison.

"We cannot make the results public," said the air specialist, among other things. The institutions do their work, we do our work, and the citizens have in their hands which version to believe.
