The resident of the building who accused Dako reacts: We gave our lives for these houses, the violations were discovered after the earthquake

One of the residents who filed a complaint against the municipality and the builder, about the building built in 2014 that led to his arrest, Vangjush Dakon, spoke to the media.

The resident of the building, Ramiz Çopa, said that the problems with the building came to light after the tragic earthquake in November, and then they made the report. He says they want nothing but their own sweat. Çopa shows that the building was designed with 7 floors and then the builder Fiqiri Farruku added 4 more and did not implement the plan of the project.

"We found this problem with some specialists by asking after the earthquake, by asking. This building has had construction violations. It was designed for 7 floors, they added 4 additional floors. The earthquake happened, but it is from the hand of the leader. The project plan has not been implemented. Everything in this building is violated. He put the water tank where it should be, he put it on the side, it should have been in the center, this building did not withstand the earthquake because it had a large load. Sebet is made due to the violation of the project. We have opened a trial so that our sweat comes out, we have given our souls to these houses. We have sacrificed, they tell us to run away. This palace is no longer built here. We were happy when it dried up, but all the buildings will be built where they are, the opposite is happening. We are working with two standards here. This building was damaged by the earthquake. The municipality's specialists said that if they wanted this building to be built here, the rent bonus was immediately expected. We have a conflict with the builders. I love my sweat. We barely escaped from being dictated to," said the resident.

The report for the building was made by the 46 residents damaged by the earthquake of November 26, 2019, one year later. Together with the defense lawyer, they filed a series of charges against the former mayor as well as other officials of the Municipality of Durrës, and after the investigations carried out by SPAK, they were arrested for abuse of office and falsification of documents.

It is about a building that started with 7 floors in 2010 and completed 11 floors in 2014 and was damaged by the earthquake in 2019. The builder of the building, Fiqiri Farruku, was also arrested for this. In this case, Vangjush Dako, the Director of the Directorate of Control and Planning of the Territory, Adhurim Qehajaj, is accused.
