The member of the Committee for Foreign Affairs of the American Senate, Chris Murphy, has mentioned several points which, according to him, lead to the reduction of tensions in the four northern municipalities of Kosovo.
Murphy says that the special units of the Kosovo Police must be withdrawn, Serbia must take real steps to end the protests, schedule new elections, allow limited access to municipal buildings for civil servants only, and to respect previous Serbia-Kosovo agreements – including the Association of Municipalities with a Serbian majority.
