Albania has surpassed some much richer and more developed countries than it in terms of the power of its passport.
The Henley Passport Index constructs an original ranking of the authority of each of the world's 199 different passports by the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa.
The index is based on exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) – the largest, most accurate database of travel information. The full list and expert insights on the latest rankings are available in the Global Mobility Report 2023 Q1 by clicking here.
How many countries can you travel to with an Albanian passport?
As far as our country is concerned, this year, Albania was ranked 51st since with our passport you can go to 115 countries.
Thus, our passport surpasses countries such as Turkey, Qatar, the Arab Emirates, China, Belarus, Armenia and many other countries.
Unfortunately, Kosovo ranks somewhere at the bottom of the list in 101st place with access to only 41 countries.
In the last place was Afghanistan with only 27 countries accessible by holders of an Afghan passport while in the first places were Japan with 193 countries, followed by Singapore, South Korea, Germany, Spain, Finland and Italy.
