Serious/ 80 female students are poisoned in a school, the first details are disclosed

At least 80 schoolchildren, mostly girls, were poisoned over the past weekend. The news was announced by the head of the Department of Education in the city of Sar-e-Pul, Muhammad Rahmani.

Local authorities are investigating the full causes of the incident. The investigation was prompted by the confessions of 17 students at one school and, a day later, another 60 at another school in a nearby village, Rahmani said in a statement.

"After arriving at school in the morning, the students suddenly started feeling dizzy, headache and nausea. The students went to the hospital, but 14 of them were in a critical condition," said the head of the department.
