Fear and panic / Kim Yong-un came out with a stained jacket, here's who can face execution
Written by SOT.COM.AL 22 Mars 2023
Several photos have been released of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Yong-un inspecting a missile launch last week, and in them it is noted that the jacket has some white spots.
This has caused fear among Kim's staff, where it is thought that those responsible for this will be punished. North Korea expert Michael Madden said those responsible face demotion or hard labor, but execution could not be ruled out.
“My initial reaction was oh my God. Personnel who have irritated the supreme leader are usually punished by demotion or heavy duties. It's unlikely that anyone would get hit on something like that, unless the leader is feeling particularly sleazy. Those responsible will probably be sent to a construction site or a farm for a month or two for this minor infraction, but it is not unheard of to be sentenced to death.
There are reports that the leader's father, Kim Yong-il, has sent bodyguards and members of his personal staff to prisons, and on one occasion someone was shot for very minor infractions. An unconfirmed story is that a member of his personal staff sat at his desk and smoked one of his cigarettes. Kim Yong-il discovered this and killed him," said Michael Madden.
Madden, who runs the website North Korea Leadership Watch, said the culprits could write a letter of apology to minimize their sentence.
But he said it was also possible for Kim to overlook this as he is much less prone to mood swings and emotional problems than his father.
