German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has warned of a difficult month regarding Russian gas.

Scholz does not think that sanctions against Moscow should be eased even though energy bills for German citizens are increasing as a result of problems with the supply of Russian gas.

The news was announced by the spokesman of the German government, who added that in the coming months the situation is expected to be even more difficult.

"We have difficult months ahead of us. But it is clear that we stand firmly on the side of Ukraine and stand behind the sanctions that we have agreed together with the European Union and the international community," he said.
