The alarm is raised / Mysterious virus causes several deaths in this country,

The unknown insect has caused symptoms including fever, headache, dizziness and vomiting, with public health authorities in the country scrambling to contain it, according to The Mirror.

The Baziro area has been quarantined, according to local media reports, after two of the infected cases were moved there for treatment.

A nurse from Migwa Health Center said the disease "kills quickly", with all three deaths so far occurring within 24 hours of the patient showing symptoms.

Burundi's Ministry of Health has already ruled out Ebola and Marburg and is closely watching the virus, which appears to be a hemorrhagic contagious bug.

It comes after neighboring Tanzania announced an outbreak of Marburg earlier this month, with the World Health Organization (WHO) declaring the risk "very high" for surrounding countries.
