Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has reacted to the tense situation created in the north of Kosovo, due to the election of 4 new Albanian mayors in municipalities with a Serbian majority.
Lavrov, in a statement to the local media, stated that the situation surrounding the recent escalation of the conflict between Serbia and Kosovo in the center of Europe is alarming.
"A great conflict is breaking out in the center of Europe. In the very place where in 1999 NATO committed aggression against Yugoslavia, violating all imaginable principles of the Helsinki Final Act and OSCE documents, which once again emphasizes that what is happening in the world today is of a geopolitical nature Lavrov said.
Among other things, he emphasized that when talking about Europe, it is necessary to ensure "equal and indivisible" security for all countries, which means that no bloc and, as he said, not even NATO, has the right to claim dominance in that part.
