Denaj: Strengthening cooperation with Portugal in the field of agriculture

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, today hosted the mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira, with whom she discussed the strengthening of cooperation between Albania and Portugal in the field of agriculture.

Minister Denaj announced that this cooperation aims to increase the presence of Albanian products in the Portuguese markets and benefit from Portugal's successful experience in setting up and operating the insurance system for farmers and production, progressing in the alignment of agricultural legislation with that of European Union.

There is a bilateral will to increase economic relations between the two countries expressed both in the cooperation agreements between AIDA and AICEP, as well as in the activity of the Luso-Albanian Chamber of Commerce. In 2023, exports reached the value of 213 million ALL, imports were approximately 1.6 billion ALL.
