The great Albanian artist who holds many awards such as "Honour of the Nation", "Naim Frashëri" and "Great Master" has passed away, this is when the tributes begin

The tributes in honor of the famous artist, Ganimet Vendresha, will take place tomorrow in the lobby of the Opera and Ballet Theater from 10:00 to 12:00, while the burial ceremony will take place tomorrow at 13:00 at the Tufina cemetery.

In the meantime, the family will welcome visitors on Saturday and Sunday, October 1 and 2, from 10:00-13:00 and 17:00-19:00 at the Piazza Restaurant in Tirana.

Ganimet Vendresha was born in Tirana on September 19, 1934. She studied classical ballet and choreography at the Ballet Academy of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow, where she met her future husband, Xhemil Simixhiu. After 6 years of studies, the two, together with three other ballerinas who completed the same education, returned to Tirana and opened the First Ballet School in Albania. Then they were co-founders of the Academy of Arts, where they worked as lecturers, and the Opera and Ballet Theater, where they worked until the end of their lives.

Ganimet Vendresha holds many career awards, as well as high titles, among them 'Honour of the Nation', 'Naim Frashëri' and 'Grand Master'.

Ganimet Vendresha left behind a great treasure in Albanian ballet, the foundations of a school that continues to be inherited today and that honors our country everywhere in the world.
