The well-known painter Anastas Kostandini continues to work with his creativity in the studio. With an activity appreciated for years, the painter Kostandini says that he is now working on a work in his city. "Soon a public work for my city", he says. In the studio of the Pogradec painter Anastas Kostandini "Taso", who for several weeks has started work on the creation of the mural mosaic with the motifs of the Illyrian flag discovered in Lower Selca, and the mayor of Pogradec, Ilir Xhakolli. This mural is expected to be exhibited in one of the main parts of the city of Pogradec. Pafta, which dates back to c. III BC is decorated with a battle scene where Illyrian warriors defeat the enemy, interspersed with mythological elements such as dragon, griffon, fish and birds. The whole scene depicted in this artifact is an interpretation of the legend of Cadmus, who, after helping the Angels to triumph over their enemies, turned into a dragon. Anastas Kostandini, nicknamed Taso, is a well-known painter, mosaicist, draftsman, graphic artist, illustrator. With various exhibitions in the country and abroad, in the last year in August he opened the retrospective exhibition "Taso-Gravura" to the public in his hometown Pogradec. The well-known painter from Pogradec was presented for the first time with a personal exhibition in graphics. At that time he stated that in the early 80's, engraving as a technique moved from linoleum to wooden plates (xylography), which allowed another approach. "For a long time I have been dealing with this gender, without which I would be incomplete," said the painter. Anatas Kostandini (Taso) was born in Pogradec. In 1978 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana, specializing in monumental art. He is one of the co-authors of the mosaic "Albania", on the facade of the National Historical Museum, which is already under restoration.
