The program protects the legacy

The "Memory of the World Register" program protects the documentary cultural heritage of humanity, from collective oblivion, abandonment, temporal damage dictated by climatic conditions, or even intentional ones. The National Museum of Photography "Marubi" says that the dossier ceremony was the culmination of many years of work of the museum to activate contacts and compile the dossier that will be submitted to the UNESCO headquarters. "We cordially thank the museum staff for the work and care in the preparation of the material, the Ministry of Culture for promoting dialogue with the Albanian representation of UNESCO in Paris, as well as the Embassy of Albania in UNESCO and Ambassador Mr. "Ferit Hoxha, for the help, suggestions during the compilation and the kindness to make our joint work a reality", says the "Marubi" museum. Another heritage of Albania should be recognized and protected by UNESCO. The file for the "Marubi" photography museum, which carries the entire collection and archive of the most famous family in 19th century Shkodra, has already been closed. For the museum, this is the first concrete step towards UNESCO, towards a process which seeks to appreciate the images of the Marubi archive, where about two centuries of history are preserved, a process which is expected to culminate in 2022. “This collection represents history "of the Albanian nation and European civilization in a broader plan, as a bridge between the past, present and future, through which it becomes possible to constantly confront and reconsider our identity", says the museum "Marubi". The National Museum of Photography "Marubi" is the first photography museum in Albania opened in November 2016 from the collection of the former National Photo Library "Marubi". The National Museum of Photography "Marubi" preserves and promotes the values ??of a photographic collection stretching from the second half of the nineteenth century to the end of the twentieth century, part of which are the Marubi and their descendants who have documented important moments of social, cultural, sports and even political life, thus fixing the irreversible flow of time.
