Works by Albanian authors and parts of foreign dramaturgy have been brought to the stage by the director Elma Doresi. She says that in every show that starts the work process, the goal has always been the same, to speak to the public, stay within her style and try to put on a directorial artistic show and not a staging. But a problem for Dores is the lack of Albanian theatrical works, which according to her are rarely chosen for our theater stages. In the interview for the "SOT" newspaper, the director Elma Doresi expresses the importance of the Albanian work on the stage and says that in these 12 years she thinks she has spoken Albanian more than anyone in the repertoire she has selected. The last two works that brought the Albanian premiere were "Bride in the sack" and "The king is dead, long live the king". but says that unfortunately in our theaters and by her colleagues, the selection of Albanian drama is missing.  -As a director, you have brought several Albanian works to the stage. The artistic season has already started, but for you, how important are Albanian works in our theaters, since it has been claimed from time to time and by different authors that they are missing?

I brought it and read it so much that as a joke I tell a colleague that I challenge you to read only Albanian drama (laughs). Albanian drama must be said to have problems. But with a little kindness and good intentions, anything is possible. In these 12 years, I think I have spoken Albanian more than anyone in the repertoire, which I have selected to put on stage. It's our problems. These are our concerns. It's our news. For these reasons, I think that Albanian drama should have a place in every season in every theater. It would be ideal if each of us could publish one work a year on Albanian dramaturgy. I think and believe that a theater without a national work would have no shadow. We do not have the luxury like in the world, where Shakespeare or Moliere can be selected, but unfortunately in our theaters and from our colleagues, the selection of Albanian drama is missing. It is so rarely resolved.

-On the stage of Tirana, you brought the theater work "Doll" before. But next, what can you tell us about the next projects in the theater?

"Kukulla" was (is) a work and a play from which I single out a lot for their genre. Personally, I like to entertain people, but even more I text you at the end of the show or give you a call. We made it! I think and I want to bring it back this season, but always if I can find free dates in the theater, since we have a lack of theaters in Tirana and we as a community are too many. I have applied to several places and am waiting for the results. Let's hope! (Laughs)

 - In Kosovo, the Ministry of Culture also distributes awards for the Albanian drama "Katarina Josipi". In Albania, there are no such competitions or awards from the Ministry of Culture. As a director, what does a competition for Albanian drama bring?

Është realizuar dikur edhe tek ne disa vite më parë në mos gaboj nga Ministria e Kulturës. Por si duket ne e kemi të vështirë ta çojmë përpara. Kam qenë për dy vite drejtoreshë artistike, si edhe kuratore e dramës shqipe në Teatrin Kombëtar. E para u jep një mundësi regjisorëve, drejtorëve për të dëgjuar një vepër që mund të inskenohet në teatër. E dyta u jep mundësi të gjithë dramaturgëve që kanë shkruar vepra të mos mbeten në sirtare. E treta, në bazë të diskutimeve që bëhen pas leximit të një vepre u jep mundësinë për të parë të mirat dhe të metat e veprës dhe për ta ripunuar sërish. E katërta, duke qenë se janë autorë shqiptarë neve na flasin në mënyrë direkte mbi aktualitetet. Mendoj se të mira sjell vendosja e dramës shqipe dhe aspak asnjë dëm.

-Në Tiranë funksionon vetëm teatri Metropol dhe dy sallat te “Ar Turbina” për shfaqje teatrore që funksionojnë në bazë të aktivitetit të 3 teatrove. Por si regjisore, sa është problem për mungesa e sallave teatrore, si ndikon kjo në jetën artistike dhe çfarë duhej të ishte bërë?

Kjo është një pyetje që e vlerësoj shumë, pasi është një problem që na prek të gjithëve. Aq më tepër që jemi privat ( pa punë). Mungesa e sallave na prek shumë. Jemi pas pandemisë dhe natyrisht, që të gjithë duam të punojmë e të realizojmë projektet. Po ku? Teatrot vetë kanë produksionet e tyre. Sezoni artistik, që lamë pas ishte një sezon mjaft intensiv dhe i mbushur. Shfaqjet filluan që nga dita e hënë e deri të dielën. Koha për të përgatitur një shfaqje teatrale varion nga 1 muaj e gjysëm deri në 2 muaj ose më shumë. Skena kërkon ditët e saja. Por në këtë mungesë, sigurisht që do të të përgjysmohet edhe koha jote. Nëse do të kishim disa salla teatrosh do të merrnim frymë mendoj të gjithë.

-Nëse flasim për atë problem që ju jeni shprehur dhe më parë plagjiatura në skenat tona në fushën e teatrit, për ju kush ka përgjegjësi?

Plagjiaturat vazhdojnë ende rëndomtë. Por me sa duket askush nuk mban përgjegjësi. Mjafton një kërkim i thjeshtë i shfaqjeve dhe aty dalin të gjithë. Për mua si regjisore është anormale kjo gjë. Pastaj nëse flasim në aspekt ligjor, plagjiatura quhet vjedhje dhe vjedhjet janë vepra penale e duhen ndëshkuar. Prej vitesh e kemi ngritur si problem, por fjalët tona bien në vesh të shurdhër.

-Ministria e Kulturës ka ndarë një fond prej 10 milionë lekësh të reja që shkon për artistët, regjisorët deri në moshën  (35 vjec). Deri tani po vihen dhe disa vepra në skenë, që janë të autorëve shqiptarë dhe të huaj. Fond, i cili siç u pohua në fund do të ketë dhe një javë festivali. Si e shikoni këtë?

I would say nothing. Or maybe my responsibility grows from show to show.
