Naim Berisha: In the new artistic season, the actors face various problems, the theater is suffering from the usurpation mentality

The problems faced by artists in their artistic life make them turn to institutions for their solution from time to time. With the start of the new artistic season, theater actors demand more attention in artistic life, as they themselves face various problems. Actor Naim Berisha speaks about the situation faced by actors in Kosovo, but he says that he is also familiar with the situation in theaters in Albania, where the artists have expressed themselves from time to time for salary increases, the improvement of the legal infrastructure, etc. Actor Naim Berisha says that in Kosovo there are issues that are not being paid attention to even though they are worrying for actors. "At the beginning of the new artistic season, actors continue to face numerous problems, including salary discrimination, where some actors are illegally privileged by receiving a higher salary than their deserved salary and some other actors are also illegally discriminated against, receiving a lower salary than their deserved salary. Even after two reports issued by the People's Advocate Institution, this issue continues not to be addressed, or to be ignored," says actor Naim Berisha. The artistic season has already started in the Albanian theaters, but the actor Naim Berisha brings attention to the division of roles in the theater in Kosovo. He says this is a problem that has become almost epidemic. According to him, a part of the actors on the basis of proximity engage in certain performances considered more important. "Another problem that the actors of the National Theater were facing is the issue of interference in the division of roles, which problem has now become almost an epidemic, where a part of the actors on the basis of affinity are engaged in certain performances considered more important in leading roles and another part are engaged in performances considered more peripheral and also peripheral roles in opposition with their artistic quality and interpretive energy. So even at the beginning of this season, the discrimination of actors is evident", says Naim Berisha. Theater institutions should be an example of operation

 As an actor, Naim Berisha has previously reacted to the problems in artistic life with the theater, but says that these institutions, both in Albania and Kosovo, should be a positive example for other institutions. "Theatre in Kosovo and Albania is suffering from the mentality of usurpation...therefore it must be freed from this oppression. These institutions must be opened to all artists and be a positive example of operation for other institutions and for society itself", says actor Naim Berisha this new artistic season that has started. A few weeks ago, the actor promoted his book "The Actor's Truth", which, as he said, reflects the truth of the institutional and legal treatment of the actor as a special category of art performers.
