A commemorative evening at TKOB for the victims of the Holocaust

In the National Theater of Opera and Ballet, the commemorative evening of the victims of the Holocaust, who lost their lives during the Second World War, was held, organized by the Israeli House in Albania. In the context of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, through the Israeli and Albanian anthems, which were professionally sung by TKOB artists, the message of awareness against anti-Semitism, prejudice and hate speech was conveyed. The Minister of Culture Elva Margariti was also present at this ceremony, who expressed on social networks that the Day of commemoration of the victims of the Holocaust has a special meaning for us Albanians. Margariti writes that unlike any other country in Europe, Albania not only did not persecute or hand over the Jews to the Nazis, but sheltered many others who fled from the folly of extreme inhumane policies. "We gave them our names, our house, our clothes... our hearts! This was the spirit conveyed in the commemorative evening, organized by the Israeli House in Albania, among friends who came from Israel, the United States of America, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo and even Georgia. We received gratitude and renewed our eternal promise that we will fight anti-Semitism and we will always protect our friend and the vulnerable", says Margariti. TKOBAP director Abigeila Voshtina also wrote on social networks. She says that on this evening the Jews were honored. "In lines of pentagrams, we honored millions of Jews, whose bodies were poured into the terrible abyss of the Holocaust, during the evening organized at the Theater of Opera and Ballet, by the Israeli House in Albania". says Voshtina. Voshtina further says that the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust serves us to appreciate the generosity of the Albanian families, which turned into a safe haven for the Jews who came to our country.
