Students get to know the museum objects in the activity "A day with the curator"

The National Historical Museum organized the activity "A day with the curator", with the students of the "Ismail Qemali" high school, who got to know the artifacts of the communist persecution pavilion. This activity aims at cooperation with secondary and high schools. This cooperation will bring the facility closer to the students. The curators of the National Historical Museum organize open hours where they talk to the younger generation about their daily work and share their knowledge on a certain topic. MHK states that "A day with the curator" aims to strengthen the cooperation of the museum with the general public, to increase the sensitivity of young generations to museum objects, to highlight the role of the curator of a museum, as well as to encourage dialogue with citizens on the history of the culture. The Communist Genocide Pavilion was opened in 1996 and covers events from 1944-1991. This pavilion contains 136 objects. In its first showcases, facts, photos and documents are given, which present the creation of political forces such as "Balli Kombëtar" and "Legaliteti". Next, the visitor is introduced to the denunciation of the Mukje Agreement by these nationalist forces. A large place is then covered with many documents and photos of the purge operations of the anti-communist forces, the special trial against political opponents during the war, as well as the liquidation of the anti-communist opposition. In the showcases, the visitor is also introduced to numerous relics of people convicted or shot by the regime of the time.
