MHK was given the "Genealogical tree of the Kastrioti family, Naples branch" by Mr. Giorgio Maria Castriota Scanderbeg. "Within the fulfillment of its mission, the National Historical Museum enriches the fund with various artefacts. Specifically, today a scion of the Kastriot family, Mr. Giorgio Maria Castriota Scanderbeg, donated to the National History Museum "the genealogical tree of the Kastrioti family, Naples branch", says the National History Museum. Through a ceremony the day before, the donation contract was signed by the director of the National Historical Museum, Mrs. Entela Çipa, and Mr. Giorgio Maria Castriota Scanderbeg. The National History Museum was inaugurated on October 28, 1981. It is the most important museum institution in the country, but aims to promote understanding and appreciation of Albania's history among the local, national and international public. It also aims to encourage dialogue between citizens about the Albanian past, present and future. For this purpose, it preserves and studies the material and non-material evidence of Albania's historical and cultural heritage, which it communicates and presents in an environment that promotes education. It also organizes and enables activities that support its vision and mission. The National History Museum has several pavilions. A working group, composed of the best specialists in museology, archeology, history, ethnography, visual art and restoration, worked on the conception and content of the National Historical Museum.
