Hacker sells data of politicians and VIPs, Twitter takes a powerful hit

Twitter is to be placed under investigation after a hacker claimed to have private details linked to more than 400 million accounts.

The hacker, "Ryushi", offers the data he has, against a payment of 200,000 dollars. International media write that the data also include those of some famous people.

Ireland's Data Protection Commission said it would "review Twitter's compliance with data protection and security law".

From the side of the social network giant, we still do not have an official reaction to the claims.

The data is said to include phone numbers and emails, including those belonging to celebrities and politicians, but the alleged size of the load is yet to be confirmed. So far, only a small "sample" has been made public.

The Guardian reported that US congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's data was included in the sample data released by the hacker. The data is also reported to include that of well-known journalist Piers Morgan, who recently had his Twitter account hacked.
