Some foods that we often store in the refrigerator, have no place there at all. Bananas need to be kept at room temperature for two reasons: Warm temperatures help the fruit finish the ripening process (if they're still green), and light and air slow down decay.
Stored in the refrigerator, your coffee is more likely to pick up other flavors from the products around it. Instead, keep it in a sealed container on a shelf away from sunlight.
Cold temperatures in the refrigerator spoil their taste and texture.
If you store honey in the refrigerator, it will not only go bad, but the taste will also change. Instead, keep it in its original container in a cool, dark place. The refrigerator removes most of the flavor of the basil, rosemary, and thyme and dries them out as well. Put them in a small glass with a little water at room temperature and place them on the table, away from direct sunlight.
If you don't prefer dry slices in your favorite sandwich, store the bread in your kitchen drawer. Like honey, many other cooking oils will solidify quickly in the refrigerator. Keep them on a cool, dark shelf in the kitchen.
