Lulzim Basha and Garry Kasparov, together for democracy against stabilocracy!

Written by Qamil Gjyrezi 28 Janar 2023

The Western Balkans must work hard against the stabilocracy that leads to radicalism and undermines the achievements of Western democracy and stability in the Balkans. The US is working hard against the stabilocracy to promote democracy in the Balkan Region. Even in Putin's Russia there are many intellectuals such as the world-famous chess player Garry Kasparov who are against the war, the Putinian authoritarianism that has led Russia to a stabilocracy and to war with Ukraine. The Bermuda Triangle Berisha, Rama and Metaj are the ideologues and creators of the stabilocracy in Albania after the 90s. It seems that the expected 30-year transition to democracy and free market economy in the 'Western Balkans' has turned into a never-ending story. Societies are weak, pluralism develops slowly and with great difficulty, political elites still dominate and economies are still dependent either on political authorities or on international companies and oligarchs. At the same time, they testify to authoritarianism, intolerance, more or less continuous popular support for the same political leaders or parties who are re-elected despite the poor economic and social performance of their respective governments and widespread corruption. In Europe, the Balkans and in the world there are many intellectuals who work for Western democracy. Lulzim Basha and Garry Kasparov are two political and intellectual personalities who are working against stabilocracy and corruption in Albania and Russia. Albanian youth must work hard against the stabilocracy, that protects the values ??of 32-year-old authoritarianism in Albania represented by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha and his former ministers! After 1992, Sali Berisha showed signs of an authoritarian state, against the democratic state and the rule of law. Realizing his departure from politics, in 2008 he made an agreement with Edi Rama on constitutional changes and threw out the idea of ??running the DP by his relatives and confidants! In these years, some former MPs in the DP opposed this authoritarian idea, but apparently for personal interests. Another group of pro-Western intellectuals represented by Lulzim Basha and Enkelejd Alibeaj etc. they were unable to raise their voice for the display of authorization, which led today to the Stabilocracy, represented by Berisha, Rama and Metaj and their supporters. The DP coalition with the LSI was the bellwether of the stabilocratic ideology designed by Sali Berisha and Ilir Metaj in Albania. That's why the USA made the decision for Berisha's Non-grata because it violated democracy in Albania, to create a stabilocracy. Stabilocracy today is represented in the world by Vladimir Putin and authoritarian leaders and in the Balkans like Erdogan and some politicians in the south-western Balkans represented by Edi Rama and Renaissance ministers and politicians in Serbia, Bosnia and Montenegro. All European democrats and intellectuals in the Balkans and in the world must work not to sacrifice democracy for stabilocracy. A stabilitocracy is a regime that includes significant deficiencies in terms of democratic governance, but enjoys external legitimacy from authoritarianism and oligarchy. I got the idea for the opinion from a status and photo of Mr. Lulzim Basha with the great Russian chess player Garry Kasparov. He writes: In the Council of Europe with the great world chess champion Garry Kasparov, a strong voice against Vladimir Putin and in support of democracy in Russia. We shared the ideas that Russian aggression against Ukraine is also an alarm bell for all world leaders to not to sacrifice democracy for stabilocracy and to place the long-term interest of peace, stability and democracies in Europe above any daily account. Our best investment in peace is to work to strengthen democracy with zero tolerance for autocrats, wherever they may be. Today we all join the goal for which Kasparov, Basha and many opposition politicians in Russia and the Western Balkans are working. Garry Kimovich Kasparov is a Russian chess grandmaster, former world chess champion, writer, political activist and commentator. Since his retirement, he has devoted his time to politics and writing. He formed the United Civil Front movement and joined as a member of Another Russia, a coalition opposing the administration and policies of Vladimir Putin. Today in Albania, especially the young people who deal with politics, intellectuals, artists, sportsmen, honest businessmen must work hard for democracy, against the stabilocracy represented by Berisha, Rama and Metaj and their supporters at all levels in 32 years.
