Why write only in English?

This summer we had great joy. Between us grandparents, we had two grandsons and a granddaughter who came from America. I don't know if they registered them as tourists, but that doesn't bother me too much. What worries me was because I could not answer one of the questions that were directed at me. To please them, but also to show them the development of the capital of Albania, Tirana, we took several walks through its streets. We stood in front of the "Skenderbeu" monument, which they didn't need to tell them about, because they knew the history better than I did. After getting acquainted with the LANC museum, I lectured a little about the 15th floor, which now looks like a dwarf in front of the towers that surround it. For the clock, which is the symbol of Tirana, but now even this one, from the towers that have surrounded it, not only lost its symbolism, but its breath is being taken away, so much so that even the sound of the bell, which announces what time it is, is no longer heard. I also talked a little about the mosque of "Hetem Beu" and why it survived without being destroyed during the Communist system. We continued with the monument on the street of "Barricades", which is named "The Unknown Soldier". It is the symbol of the victory of the war for the liberation of Tirana and is called and should be called "THE VICTORIOUS PARTISAN". I also explained the reason for the name of this street , near which the monument is located, the street of "Barricades". We left the "Skënderbej" square, the ministries, entered the middle of the block. The curiosity was to see the house where Enver Hoxha lived. The question of how our people lived in the system communist led by Enver Hoxha, I talked to them a little long, because they were not born in Albania. I talked about the state of Albania before liberation, I talked about the good things that the communist system did, starting with the education of the people, the development of industry, agriculture I also showed them the flaws of that system, especially about freedom of speech, class struggle, internment and how our people waited for the establishment of the democratic system... I spoke, but they mostly looked around reading the signs naming the bars . After walking on several streets, on "Sami Frashri" street, we sat down in a bar to enjoy an ice cream
The waiter came.
Without him saying what we wanted, the eldest grandson says:
- Please bring us ice cream!
-I looked at him saying:- what was the reason you spoke English to him?
- Why is this neighborhood not a neighborhood inhabited by Americans or foreigners from other countries? Why do Albanians also live here? The question was - as the people say - with a sting.
-Also this neighborhood is inhabited by Albanians. Foreigners can also do this, but I think they will be very few - I talked to him to convince him that it was not a neighborhood with foreign residents.
- How is it possible that all the names of the bars are written in English? We did not read any local names in the Albanian language. Yes, in all of Tirana, service premises are written in English.
Why don't you write them in Albanian and then in English?
Shut up! I was silent, but I said to myself.
- Long live the Municipality, the Institute of Linguistics, the Academy of Sciences, but why not the real linguists as well as we the people, who are allowing, not only the deformation of the language, but also not its writing. Maybe by denying the language, we become Western and especially American? Shouldn't we be ashamed when the children of our immigrant children make this remark?
