If only one Ronela were guilty!
Written by Ramazan Sherja 23 Maj 2022
After the very ugly performance of the singer Ronela Hajati in Eurovision, she was attacked by insults and insults from the lowest. Despite the fact that there was some appreciation for him, more from the "moderns" as for the anger of the "backward" that "Shakespeare and Irini Qiriaqi have time left", as a pseudo-journalist said in a TV show, the song infuriated most of Albanians. I do not want to analyze here the artistic level of the 60th festival on ART, because many criticisms have been written about it. I am not dealing with the undignified interpretation of the singer, that he was seen by everyone, nor with her "spiritual touch", as she herself stubbornly replied to the artistic director of the festival that "on stage I will do as I want yourself! ” The concern is deeper, than Ronela's poor interpretation. If it was just a Ronela who is kicked out on stage, we would all oppose it and arrange it, to appear more dignified at other festivals. Despite the lyrics of the song without poetry, and the extremely erotic interpretation, with pronounced doses of lesbianism, Ronela should be addressed remarks and not anger, criticism to serve her and others to improve the quality of performance and not swearing and banalities. Offers with dirty words, with vulgarities, do not only indignate Ronela, but are an expression of education and cultural formation of those who express them, as well as the media that publish them, as they do not bring anything positive to Albanian art. Addressing such vulgar and perverted epithets as "scaly goat", "national shame with lesbian scenes", "man with tits", "naughty female behavior", "Go clean the sum of the Arabs", "cow with sneakers", "stupid woman", "idiot", "crazy cow" etc., means that not only every artist and intellectual should feel very bad, but also ordinary people should to be indignant. If for one mind we emptied all "what is in the belly" towards Ronela, we eliminated her as an artist, did Albanian art gain anything? Nothing. A major national concern should be the low level of anti-national tendencies of most Albanian art. Commercialism, as everywhere in our lives, has significantly reduced the quality of art, bringing to the stage mediocre performers, noisy charlatans, and has overshadowed dignified artists, true professionals, those who really know how to make art, because of their economic situation, or lack of political support. It is necessary that all Albanian art must pass through a sieve of professional critics and analysts, of the competent structures of the state, in order for it to elevate the valuable values ??of the Albanian nation. At art events, we have stale texts because we no longer have real poets. One can imagine the level of our poetry today, when competitions are organized and a poetry volume entitled "Hole!" Wins first prize. We do not have songs, because we no longer have talented and patriotic composers and singers. I wonder where are the talented poets and singers? It brings to mind the authors of the texts Jorgji Papingji and Arben Duka, who have made over 2000 each and most of them are still remembered today. Immortal remain the poetic texts of Zhuljana Jorganxhiu, Xhevahir Spahiu, Natasha Lakos, Gjok Beci, Agim Doçi, Irma Kurti, Koçi Petriti, Alqi Boshnjakut, etc. Their songs with high artistic level, composed by great musicians, were sung by prominent singers such as Vaçe Zela, Avni Mula, Gaqo Çako, Bashkim Alibali, Liljana Kondakçi, Aurela Gaçe, Alida Hisku, Manjola Nallbani, Anita Bitri, Luan Zhegu, Tonin Tërshena and dozens of others, some of whom no longer live, but live their songs. It is enough to bring to mind the verses of such songs "I broke a laurel leaf", "I chose a man", "Love blooms like a bud", "Together with the children", "I am not a tribe", "Today I am 20 years old", " My mother will cut the braid "," I ask the tears "," The girls of my village "," Tears with you boy, I know the worry ", and many others that convey strongly intertwined love for the homeland and work, with love youth, away from the politicization of screaming screams, became eternally part of the soul of the Albanian people. Festivals were held every year on RTSH, and the next day of the festival, even the simplest man whistled and held the beautiful verses to his lips. Tell me, which melody or song lyrics has come to mind in any of the festivals that have taken place in the last 20 years ?! Rarely nothing, because there is no text, but a bunch of sounds, no melodies but a mixture of shouts and screams. That the artistic level and performance of singers has been declining from year to year, shows the place occupied by the representative of Albania in Eurovision. Thus, the songs "Imazhi yt" sung by Anjeza Shahini and "Suus" sung by Rona Nishliu, which were classified for the finals, occupying the 7th and 5th place, respectively, and up to Ronela, which was not classified at all, show that our art has suffered discounts. Ronela Hayati is just the tip of the iceberg of our art flooded with commercialism. Check out our movie theater, where you will not find a movie to be. They are played by unworthy actors, they have plagiarized scenarios with fragmentarism that does not go to the end of the idea launched, because such films are sponsored by ignorant producers who have no knowledge of art, but whose mission is to fill their pockets. And the theater stages, which once abounded in every district of the country, now do not function at all, with the exception of the National Theater, where he also does not stage any memorable work. Look for where you want in TV shows real art, dignified performance, honest dialogue, the necessary drama, but where to find it? to "Bigbrotheri Vip" or to "Match", to "Love story", or in "Goca e Gra", or further in a fragmentary film that does not convey any message such as "The Square of Power" or "Two honey fingers". It is not a question here that we can not be separated from the nostalgia for the art of the past, but we want to maintain a fair relationship between tradition and modern art, without ever denying the values ??that our nation has. None is against modern art, but we are against clashes and screams on stage, against sexist vocabulary in shows, against the tempting nudity that tries to cover mediocrity and the artistic sense of dignified performance. Art is not made by order, but neither by money laundering. True art penetrates itself, without being felt, it lives long and if you are going to be separated from it, it is not separated from you. Talented people, real artists, know how to intertwine, in a functional way, the tradition with the modern, that our Albanian marrow be passed on for centuries. Winston Churchill said: "Without tradition, art is a flock of sheep without a shepherd. "Without innovation, he is a corpse." And when our art is in this state, there is no need to detach a spark from its mediocre environment, like Ronela, and ask it to wash away all the sins of vulgarity and degradation of our art. Despite the fact that an artist tries to survive with unworthily earned income, despite the fact that the art market is threatened by commercialism with its degeneration, despite the extreme development of technology with flashy music videos and youtube, no one should forget that we are Albanians we have our cultural tradition, our peculiarities as a nation, and we must not let art get lost in the fog of commercialist art,
