"30 thousand free professionals who are paying an unfair tax", Tabaku: An unfair system cannot build a better Albania
Written by SOT.COM.AL 20 Prill 2024
In a post on the Facebook social network, the democratic deputy, Jorida Tabaku, once again analyzed the situation with the taxation of freelancers.
A topic that she has been examining for a long time both in parliament and on social networks, while she has sent a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court on behalf of the DP parliamentary group.
She argued that an unfair taxation system cannot provide a better Albania and a fairer society. So taxing freelancers is another blow to the middle class.
"Thousands of messages from young, self-employed people who have started to receive the new 30%-40% turnover tax from April 1st.
Information technology, economics, dentists, pharmacists; 30 thousand free professionals who are paying an unfair tax, an unequal tax, of a dishonest taxation system which does not promote work, does not encourage work, but promotes and encourages corruption.
For this reason, we have brought a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court, and I very much hope that all free professionals will join the voice against the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party.
We must definitely change this reality. We definitely need to support the middle class, we need to support innovation, we need to support work.
We must support anyone who will sacrifice to live here. Albania cannot be a model of corruption!
It cannot be the Albania of favoritism and exemption from taxes and, on the other hand, unfair taxes for those who work. We have to change this reality and we have to change this system," says Tabaku.
