The arrest of the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dakos, and his imprisonment on the charge of abuse of office has sparked debates regarding the security measure set by GJKKO. Lawyer Genc Gjokutaj, invited to the studio of 'Pa Protokoll' with journalist Anduela Ndreu on Report TV, said that SPAK had other, much more serious issues under investigation, such as that of the incinerators. According to him, SPAK is under the control of the government and that the arrest of former officials under the charge of abuse of office is being done with the aim of saving them from seizing their assets.


"This SPAK who deals with a hair while not seeing the beam has something. This SPAK is not independent, it depends on the government. If you take a former official and accuse him of abuse of office, you do it to save him from confiscation of assets. You can't escape without a prison, because the prison was filled with criminals. The SPAK is burdened more than it should be, it should only deal with MPs and other high officials, not deal with the trafficking of motor vehicles. There is also moral corruption of the prosecutor. When a politician who is guilty appears in front of you and pretends not to see it and does not take him as a defendant, then you are morally corrupt" - said Gjokutaj who said that so far of all the former officials arrested for violations, none of them their property was not harmed.
