Begaj welcomes the counterpart from Hungary: Gratitude for the support you have given to Albania in the European journey

President Bajram Begaj has expressed his gratitude for the support that Hungary has given to our country in the European journey. Yesterday, he received his counterpart from Hungary, Katalin Novak, where in a press conference, Begaj said that he expressed his gratitude to Novak for the support that Hungary has given to Albania. Bilateral cooperation, the EU integration process of Albania and BP, current developments in the region, were at the center of the conversation. "I appreciated the very good, historical and traditionally friendly relations between the two countries. The national heroes of our two countries, Skenderbeu and Huniad, laid the foundations of a strategic partnership. Thank you to Hungary for initiating the proclamation by the UN of September 5 as the International Day of Charity in honor of the Albanian saint, Mother Teresa. Thanks to the common Euro-Atlantic vision, bilateral political relations have strengthened even more. Our two countries are allies in NATO and cooperate closely within the process of Albania's EU integration. We paid special attention to economic and commercial cooperation. Gratitude for the support that Hungary has given to Albania in the process of European integration", he declared. President Bajram Begaj also commented on the developments in the north of Kosovo. Begaj emphasized that the violence of Serbs against KFOR forces is unjustifiable. "Such events are not in the service of anyone, they are not good for anyone. They hinder the integration processes of the region in the EU. The NATO mission in Kosovo is a 20-year success story. This mission has carried out their duty with extraordinary responsibility and dedication. Abuse of the Serbian population in the north of Kosovo, and the violence against KFOR and the media is unjustifiable. No excuse can be made to justify any of the parties for not implementing the agreement reached in Brussels and the annexes in Ohrid. At this moment, a de-tensioning of the situation is needed, to show prudence and patience and to serve the solution of the problem and to be the compass of orientation of the two countries to reach that agreement", underlined Begaj.
