Member of the leadership of the Democratic Party Jonila Godola told Euronews Albania that she herself asked the leadership of the party why they did not come up with 61 candidates.
According to her, it is not true that the party does not have that many candidates, but this decision was made after many discussions with the presidency.
"This was a question that I also asked the leadership of the party because, like my colleagues, I was faced with the fait accompli of what had happened. How is it possible that the party does not have these candidates. During the week, it was discussed whether the party would come out with 61 candidates in the elections, and then there were different options that were presented both by the leadership and by the members of the presidency. The debate was long, difficult, until the decision was made to come up with candidates, but they were absent", said Jonila Godole.
