The statement of the US embassy in Tirana about the politicians in Albania who support the former prime minister Sali Berisha, seems to have scared the defecting deputies of the Democratic Party who have followed him. After the American ultimatum, the "hemorrhage" also started, as some of the deputies distanced themselves from Berisha. Initially, it was the DP deputy, Dashnor Sula, who in a television interview commented on the statement of the US embassy, ??where he said that the embassy's position is correct. He added that he and the other MPs who joined the Bardhi-Berisha roundtable did not gather around Berisha, but to have a functional opposition. "The position of the American embassy is very accurate and correct. I'm telling you, neither I nor my colleagues have gathered around an individual like Sali Berisha. We think we should have a functional opposition. How I see it. I agree, I accept everything you say, under any circumstances I do not comment on Berisha's non-women, but can there be morality and logic, the votes of Berisha's non-women are not needed for the opposition, while the votes of the majority's non-women are needed to stay in power. Chestnut: We are not on Berisha's side

Meanwhile, the deputy of the Democratic Party, Lefter Gështenja, seems to have distanced himself from the "non-women" Berisha, as he pointed out in a media that at the opposition table, the parliamentary group was not only with the head of the "Foltor" but also with factors other members of the opposition and their aim was to create a united opposition. "First of all, I don't see any reason to revise the position. The reason for the entire parliamentary group that I belong to, the official group of the Democratic Party, is not sitting at a table with only Mr. Berisha, but the invitation was for the 52 MPs, that is, all the MPs from April 25, 2021 without excluding anyone, with a single objective to unify the opposition and its positions in the Albanian parliament. This is because, as we know, for almost two years we have not had a real opposition in the parliament or outside it.

Gjekmarkaj: Se njoh Berishën si kryetar

Nga ana tjetër, deputeti demokrat, Agron Gjekmarkaj, e cili shpesh e etiketon veten si “rapsod” dhe bejtexhi, duke folur e në një intervistë televizive në lidhje me zhvillimet e fundit rreth PD-së u shpreh se ajo që ka ndodhur në raport me SHBA është fatkeqësi, sepse mos interesimi i tyre ndaj PD janë një dritë jeshile për qeverinë që të sillet si të dojë me zgjedhjet. Ai zbuloi edhe arsyen se pse ka marrë pjesë në takimet e fundit mes deputetëve opozitarë të Berishës dhe Bardhit, jo për të njohur Berishën si kryetar të PD. “Ajo që ka ndodhur në raport me SHBA është fatkeqësi, sepse mos interesimi i tyre ndaj PD dhe mos konsiderimi i shoh si një dritë jeshile për qeverinë që të sillet si  të dojë me zgjedhjet. Faktori ndërkombëtar ka kohë që nuk luan më rolin e arbitrit. Unë kam shkuar në një takim të opozitës, jo për të njohur Sali Berishën si kryetar. Nuk e njoh Berishën si kryetar të PD.Berisha ka një peshë elektorale reale dhe historike pa të cilën nuk e bën llogarinë e aksionit opozitar dhe pa të cilën nuk ndërton dot një opozitë konkurruese. Unë kam shpresuar që Berisha do ndiqte linjë tjetër mbrojtje më herët, por ristabilizimin e marrëdhënieve me SHBA e quaj fondamentale për rikthimin e opozitës në konkurrencë”, deklaroi Gjekmarkaj.

Ultimatumi i amerikanëve, dredhon Bardhi: Nuk jam bashkuar me Berishën

Sakaq, edhe deputeti Gazment Bardhi, ka komentuar deklaratën e ambasadës së SHBA për zhvillimet brenda PD, ku ndër të tjera theksohej se nuk është roli i ambasadës që të zgjedhë se kush udhëheq partitë politike në Shqipëri. Gazment Bardhi deklaroi në një emision televiziv se e mbështet plotësisht këtë deklaratë dhe qëndrimin e ambasadës amerikane për individët e shpallur “non grata”. Ai  theksoi se nuk është bashkuar me Sali Berishën, pavarësisht se brenda grupit të PD ka një unifikim.“Unë nuk jam bashkuar (me Berishën). E mbështes 100% deklaratën e SHBA. Kam qenë në studio me ju ditën e parë kur është bërë takimi dhe të kam pohuar ekzaktësisht atë që thotë deklarata. Nuk ka asnjë ndryshim të SHBA sa i përket “non gratave” dhe kjo është një çështje që mua më ndan me zotin Berisha. Mes SHBA-së dhe zotit Berisha unë zgjedh SHBA. Mes zotit Berisha dhe Edi Ramës unë zgjedh Sali Berishën sa kohë është opozitar dhe ka besimin e një pjese të popullit opozitar”, deklaroi Bardhi.
