The DP deputy, Flutura Açka commented yesterday on the situation within the Democratic Party, while showing some details about the tense meeting of the Presidency, which was held this week. While she was invited to a television studio, she said that at the closed-door meeting of the DP, she voted in favor of starting a process for the election of the new president on July 29, but not for Basha. Yesterday, in a television interview, she said that she would like DP to bring in a new political figure. "I did not vote in favor of Basha, but in favor of opening the process for the opening of the race for president. I have transmitted the suggestions of the base in Elbasan. With the opening of the process, it does not mean that the road is opening for Basha. We are divided, numb, and Berisha started this war by despising us. This fragile position of ours was the reason why I wanted to open a process for the election of a new leader. This is a historic moment to part with the past. I want to see new political talents, intellectuals, people who have missions in the competition, DP must open up. Basha wins in an honest way. If this process will be manipulated, I will denounce and distance myself publicly", she declared. Meanwhile, regarding the tensions that happened outside the PD after the meeting, she said that she was not present and that she did not see what happened. As for Tabak's resignation as DP vice-president, she said she thinks it was emotional, adding that she would like the latter to run on July 29. "At the meeting, there was a constructive debate inside, I was not present and I do not know what happened outside. Last night I learned that Mrs. Tabaku was also insulted, while today she told me that it did not happen. I believe Tabak's resignation was emotional, but that doesn't matter. If Tabaku enters the race for president, I will be the first to vote for her. If Berisha doesn't leave by September, we can risk the 2025 elections", underlined Açka.
