Prime Minister Edi Rama has accepted yesterday the scandal of theft of EU funds by AZHBR. In his visit to Croatia, he stated that the government will take measures to reorganize the administration of EU funds and requested support for the negotiation process, tourism and cyber security. "We have asked for direct support for the negotiation process and we want to get as much support as possible for tourism, cyber security, active assistance in the function of employment, as well as to specifically handle cases, such as the case we currently have related to some corrections that we will make in the field of administration of EU funds for agriculture, that Croatia has had a similar case and we are interested in learning about the structural addressing that the government of Croatia has done", said Rama. But the Albanian prime minister, although he removed this parallel with Croatia, he did not mention the arrests made by Zagreb after the abuses of EU funds were discovered. The prosecution handcuffed Croatia's former Minister for Regional Development and European Union Funds from 2016 to 2019 and several associates.

This statement by Prime Minister Rama comes after SPAK confirmed a few days ago that it has started investigations into the scandal with EU funds. Brussels cut off IPARD funds, i.e. the money that goes to agriculture, after suspicions of abuses and corruption. A lawsuit has even been filed in SPAK regarding this issue by OLAF. The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, in a meeting with journalists, has confirmed that they have started investigations into this file. After the case was dismissed for incompetence, there is a new investigation, he said. "Investigations for this file have started and are in the preliminary process. We are verifying whether there is a criminal offense or not", said Dumani. Will former minister Frida Krifca and her associates suffer the same fate? The newspaper has reported some time ago how Frida Krifca took the agricultural funds to MPs, ministers and other high officials. The abuses of AZHBR were found in 2019 by KLSH. In their report, it was stated that in the Rural Agricultural Development Agency, the former director Frida Krifca, committed numerous financial abuses in the administrative and agricultural budget of the farmers. The report states that Krifca has used 25% of the fund of agricultural and livestock giants, for misleading advertisements to donors and farmers. A serious violation is the non-action for 2 billion new loans granted and not repaid, calling them "irreparable losses", when businesses are active and have many assets; while these values ??have not been used for agro-agricultural businesses. Despite the fact that the law stipulates that grants are given only to farmers, it turns out that 70% of the value was taken by businessmen in construction and transport, even by tower builders. KLSH has found, that 30 lawsuits were filed in court against the debtors, but by order of the former director Frida Krifca, today the Minister of Agriculture, they were only asked to terminate the contract and not to return the millions that were given to them, while then AZHBR was withdrawn from lawsuits. In the report, it is stated that in the account of the Rual Agricultural Development Agency for the years 2017-2018, 2.1 million Euros of grand interests are missing, for which there is no documentation.
