No mechanical union/ Basha: We are separated due to conviction. PD, the party of Western values ??determined to fight corruption. If we surrender the causes, how will we ask the Albanians to vote?!

Today, Lulzim Basha held a meeting with young people of the Democratic Party in the city of Berat.

Basha also commented on the May 14 elections, for which he said that the result was not a surprise, as he described them as "a farce accompanied by tambourines and curses".

Basha said that for 10 years he has denounced the oil affairs in Albania, but added that this has not increased the credibility of the citizens of the DP, as he said "we have not talked about our oil corruption", which has enriched a handful of people.

"I was coming from the Dumre road and passed by the oil fields, there are very old, rusty oil wells. And I remembered the promises and commitments that have been made to the entire district of Berat all these years, from those who have 10 years in power but also from us. There are some constants, some truths that we have not told.
I come from a special experience in my political life. As you know, a year and a few months ago I resigned. And when take a step back, you have the opportunity to see things a little cooler. The pace changes, the crazy pace of politics changes. The distance with what is happening increases and you have the opportunity to see things more coldly. Because sometimes the wave gets ahead of you and you forget to see the important thing.
People talk differently when you are the leader of the party; it is known that you have a political agenda. Different when you are busy and you are reflecting. I have the impression that people are even more honest, more direct.
He understands some things himself. You understand that while we were raising our finger and denouncing for 10 years in a row, rightly so, the affairs with Albanian oil, you understand that part of our credibility fell to the bottom due to the fact that we did not talk about our oil corruption. For the people who in our government became billionaires from oil. Public money that should have come to Berat but never did, enriched a handful of people.
This has happened. Justice has not done itself, but neither have we done ours.
And now, for two years comes the confrontation. There are those who think that we should "coordinate" our political formation, build our campaign fund and do the math of the numbers.
The mathematics of numbers dictates that we also find these abusers from 10 years ago, add the numbers and face ours with theirs. Total war.
But is this the change you expect?
Is it the change you deserve?
This is rotation. If it happens. They leave and come here.
If the vice remains unpunished within, what will we change for Berat?
Does Berat and Albania deserve this?

Ndaj jam kundër çdo bashkimi mekanik, nuk jemi ndarë për gjëra të vogla me ata që jemi ndarë nje vit e gjysem më parë. Jemi ndarë për bindje, per vlera. Jemi ndare si parti e vlerave perendimore. Jemi ndare per luften kunder korrupsionit.
Nëse i dorëzojmë këto kauza, me çfarë arsyetimi do u kërkojmë votën shqiptarëve?!
Ky bashkim, edhe po te ndodh, ne bindjen time nuk ndodh dot ne natyren njerezore. Edhe po te ndodh nuk eshte garanci per fitore. Por sic e tregoi 14 Maji është garanci për humbje tjeter poshteruese, dyshen sic e pate qe bashkoi forcat, gjoja ne emer te opozites. Sepse ne politike nje dhe nje nuk bejne dy; mund te bejne tre, mund te bejne pese por mund te bejne edhe zero. Zerojne njera tjetren. Kete e kasha si perjetim, teksa po vija ne Berat, siç po shikoja ato puset e naftës mu kujtua se ngjyerja e gishtit, korrupsioni nuk ka ngjyrë, duhet ndeshkuar pavaresisht ngjyrave dhe emrave te pervecem. Kjo duhet jete kauza jone. Ketu po, ketu ka shprese. Me nje PD te vendosur per te qendruar disa vlerave baze, nuk jane shume por jane te sigurta; alencen me perendimin, aleancen perendimore per integrimin europian, clirimi i ekonomise, clirimi i politikes dhe luftes kunder korrupsionit."- declared Basha.
