The head of SPAK warns of sensational arrests among the corrupt, reveals that special prosecutors and BKH agents are cooperating with 20 joint investigative teams from EU countries

The head of SPAK warns of sensational arrests among the corrupt, reveals that

The head of the Special Structure (SPAK), Arben Kraja, has promised more results from the institution he leads, while the country has started the path to membership after the opening of negotiations. In the presentation of the EU4LEA project of the European Union, for Law Enforcement in Albania, Kraja announced yesterday sensational arrests among the corrupt, while revealing that special prosecutors and BKH agents are collaborating with 20 joint investigative teams from EU countries. He even asked for the EU's help and pledged that they will be cooperative to meet the objectives to be achieved. Among other things, the head of SPAK emphasized that the crime situation in the country requires a strong response. He said there are many important investigations ahead. "Each of the institutions has its own tasks. Even those of law enforcement have an important role. Including the crime situation that requires a strong response, I think that the project is at the right time to realize these objectives. SPAK has been formally consolidated as a structure. BKH investigators are all busy. The situation is that everyone is very active. We have many important investigations ahead and in this sense it is time to move forward. The level we have reached, I think, has come with continuous growth. We have 20 joint investigative teams. We are trying and we are serious about going to the end. We work closely with Europol. The project will be of help to us. We are serious about the work we do. We will objectively investigate all the cases we have and provide results. I want to guarantee the project managers that they will be cooperative in achieving the objectives that the project has. We will be serious partners and we need your help. We will have more results', declared Kraja.

Chuçi talks about crime and corruption

The Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, spoke during the presentation of the new EU project 'Eu4LEA', saying that it is of special importance not only to fight organized crime, terrorism trafficking, but also the EU integration process. "Thanks to this cooperation, today we have law enforcement agencies that decently cooperate with the member countries, but not only of the EU, as equal partners, something that only a few years ago was not even thought to be possible. We have moved from simply exchanging information between joint agencies to the stage of joint investigations with countries. This is a very big step that is based above all on the trust built between our law enforcement agencies. This trust, this ability to interact, to be together in action against organized crime, trafficking, terrorism, it would not be possible if we did not have a partner like the EU for many years. Today is simply a confirmation and consolidation of this partnership. On the other hand, the new cooperation project with the EU that has already changed and the brand takes on another special importance because it will accompany us in a very important and complicated process such as the negotiations in the EU", he said. Among other things, the minister said that chapter 24 of our contract with the EU is one of the main pillars of this contract. According to him, without closing and evolving Chapter 24, Albania cannot proceed with other chapters. "Chapter 24 of our contract with the EU is one of the main pillars of this contract. Without closing and evolving chapter 24, Albania cannot proceed with other chapters, so it takes on special importance at the stage we are in.
