When do the democrats' protests start? The details from the meeting of the National Council of the DP are revealed
Written by SOT.COM.AL 1 Tetor 2022
The meeting of the National Council of the Democratic Party was held today.
After the closing of the meeting, the Chairman of the National Council, Edi Paloka, revealed the decisions taken for the votes for the candidates in the primaries, stating that not only DP members but also DP sympathizers will vote.
He added that the position of branch heads will be exercised by the vice-presidents, until the voting results are released, until it is decided whether they will be officially candidates or not.
Meanwhile, one of the issues that caused a debate in the Council was precisely the holding of the protests, where the member Aleksandër Biberaj requested a clear agenda and date regarding the DP's political action.
Journalist Osman Stafa has reported that there is no fixed date for the protests, but that he has learned that the Democratic Party will strongly support the teachers' protest on October 5.
"We have witnessed that Berisha has always said that the opposition's response to Rama will be strong protests. Meanwhile, recently, since a speech in the Assembly in the last session, he has declared that the action of the opposition will also extend to the unions and strikes. We do not have a date for the anathema protests that would take place in September. In response to Biberaj, Berisha said that protests are the only form that PD does not give up, but that they will happen after the primaries. On October 5, when the protest will take place, the PD has declared that it will be in strong support of the protest", he reported.
