Nikola meets the reporters of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Albania: Assembly, construction site for advancing reforms

The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, received yesterday the reporters of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Albania, Joseph O'Reilly and Asim Mollazada. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the CoE Office in Albania, Jutta Gützkow. During the meeting was discussed the situation and political developments in Albania, the progress of reforms, with particular focus on electoral reform and territorial reform; the progress of the European integration process as well as the experience of Albania in increasing the participation of women in the political and parliamentary life and the governance of the country. In response to their interest, the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, informed the reporters that “The cooperation of Albania with the CoE and of the Albanian Parliament with the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE is excellent. Albania is advancing in development reforms, democratization and integration, has successfully completed the tasks in implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission and awaits the holding of the First Intergovernmental Conference with the EU. The Albanian Parliament is currently a work site for advancing development, democratization and integration reforms. "The opposition and its parliamentary groups have all the necessary access to contribute to the reforms and to the country."
