Sociologist Ergys Mërtiri, invited to the studio of "Open" on News24, commented on the release of the former Minister of the Interior Saimir Tahiri from the cell under house arrest.

He said that Tahiri is a person who would never have been caught if his wiretapping had not been made public by Italy and that his immunity was not removed by the parliament in an attempt to protect him.

According to him, all this cannot be a coincidence, as he said that Tahiri was protected by the prime minister after threatening the latter in public, saying that no one could handcuff him.

He added that Tahiri would never be punished if there were no representatives of the USA in the court hearings, while he further said that there is a deal between the prime minister and Tahiri since he knows about Rama's "deeds", the reason for which he the latter "does not sell" the former minister.

"There is no question that the convicted official's wife suddenly fell ill and the law was applied to expel her. It is about a person who has been intercepted in public and would never be caught. She came from the Italians. The prosecution did not investigate him, the parliament did not remove his immunity. There were scandals that were covered up and in the end he received a small sentence due to pressure from America. This is fable.

They stapled the papers, I'm sure of it. But all these cannot be coincidences, there is influence here. Tahiri said that there is no son who puts handcuffs on him, it was a direct threat to Rama who protected him after the threat. When he was the minister, the whole country was planted with hashish, no one was engaged in agriculture anymore.

In this country, people have been sentenced for stringing lights and killing themselves in prison. No one gives a damn about this. Legally there are endless paths. If there was an independent judiciary, there would be no American who would go to court. Tahiri would not be punished if the US was not present at every session. Tahiri is not the problem, but politics and the phenomenon. The Prime Minister comes to his side because there must be feats that Tahiri knows and Rama does not sell. There is a bargain here and it is alarming that everyone is caught up to their throats. He is neither punished properly, nor released properly.
