Rama, panicked by the American investigation into the FBI agent, avoids interrogation and delegates powers to Spiropali, this is how the confrontation with the opposition in the Parliament risks turning into a "boomerang"

Prime Minister Edi Rama seems to be gripped by anxiety and panic after the American authorities have started investigations into the former FBI agent, Charles McGonigal, who has been indicted by the prosecution in the USA, the file that also mentions the head of the Albanian government. Yesterday, everyone expected him to give clarifications in the Assembly about the "McGonigal" scandal, but he was afraid of the questioning and did not go to the session at all. It seems that Rama has been advised to avoid making statements about this issue in the Assembly hall, since the Parliament hall has solemnity and that any statement he makes about the "McGonigal" file, in case the American investigations extend to Albania, where he will it is requested that the Albanian Prime Minister be taken as a defendant, they can be returned to him in a "boomerang". So Rama chose to ignore the interpellation with full awareness.

Rama recounts the meeting with the former agent

However, Prime Minister Edi Rama has decided to speak to the media about his affair with the former FBI agent. Although the opposition asked him yesterday to provide clarifications in the Assembly, he appeared in some media late yesterday, where he tried to justify the scandal. Rama stated that he did not talk about business with him. According to him, the first meeting focused on the Russian influence. What stood out is that during the entire interview, Rama never dared to mention the name of the FBI official. "I want to repeat that I have nothing to say in this conversation, but since today I refused to be and will continue to refuse, not for specific issues but as a whole, to be in an Assembly hall, to be involved in debate with an opposition that is at a frightening ethical level and unfortunately has dragged me to that level as well. But on the other hand I say that in any case take it easy and thank you for giving me in this case to explain those things that I can explain. I met the former official at his request. He came and we had a friendly conversation in the office in general terms. He showed me that the work has Russian influence as a whole, he told me about the region where Russian influence is present, but in Albania it was non-existent", he declared. He further stated that in the USA the meetings were accidental, because they met during visits to the United Nations. Rama has also admitted that there was no notification from the US embassy about these meetings. "The other meetings have come either as a result of his presence here where I met in a friendly manner without an agenda or my presence in the US where I was at the UN and he invited me and I was at the FBI offices and I met with his colleagues. I don't see anything extraordinary. It is a normal relationship and it is not the only one I have with representatives of different agencies. I have no obligation to notify the US embassy because it is my normal job", he said.

Kryeministri mohoi se ka nisur hetim ndaj tij

Ndërkohë kryeministri ka vijuar të këmbëngulë se nuk ka hetime në SHBA kundër tij. Ai u pyet dhe për njohje me Agron Nezën e Dorian Duçkën. Neza është ai që dha 225 mijë dollarët dhe Rama shprehet se nuk e njihte deri në momentin e takimit me zyrtarin e FBI. “Rasti ka të bëjë se si ai, pra për rastin në fjalë se ajo çështja tjetër s’ka lidhje me Shqipërinë. Në rastin konkret ka të bëjë si ka zbatuar ai rregullat dhe kodet etike të FBI dhe ligjet e SHBA, jo si i kam zbatuar unë.  Ai ka ardhur sëbashku me një qytetar shqiptaro-amerikan, të cilin ma ka prezantuar si mikun e tij. Dhe unë i kam thënë bujrum. Nuk është folur kurrë në takime për asnjë lloj biznesi”, nënvizoi Rama. Sa i takon parave ai është justifikuar se paratë që përmenden janë një borxh mes Agron Nezës dhe McGongial.

Më herët gjatë paradites së djeshme kryeministri Edi Rama ka reaguar për debatet në Kuvend. Ai braktisi interpelancën me PD për skandalin “McGonigal”, ndërkohë që ka nisur të justifikohet në rrjetet sociale. Rama shprehet se po i bëhet gjyq politik, pasi ai s’ka lidhje me atë çështje. Në Twitter kryeministri shkruan se drejtësia amerikane nuk ka ngritur asnjë akuzë ndaj tij dhe shqiptarëve të tjerë. “Kjo është një tallje e madhe dhe e shpifur e politikës pa din e as iman me ata që i shkojnë mbrapa kësaj politike figurash të diskredituara, të cilët duan të mbulojnë diellin me shoshë, ndërkohë që marrëdhëniet tona me SHBA dhe institucionet amerikane janë më të forta se kurrë. Kush i ka dy fije mend e kupton se ç’është e tërë kjo histeri vetëgjyqësie politike e mediatike, mbi një gjyq në Amerikë për një zyrtar të FBI të cilin drejtësia e non gratave këtu pretendon se është korruptuar nga unë, ndërkohë që drejtësia amerikane s’ka asnjë akuzë a pretendim. Një abuzim total me lirinë e fjalës, me të vërtetën, me publikun, në një dëshpërim total moral, politik, elektoral, ku me shpifje ekstreme synohet manipulimi i opinionit me një çështje të hetuar nga drejtësia amerikane që ka shkuar në gjykatë e që s’ka asnjë lloj lidhje me ne këtu”, shkroi Rama.
