"Albania has been shaken by many political upheavals"/ The well-known ex-ambassador to the Council of Europe reacts and shows the strong challenges: There is still work to be done
Written by SOT.COM.AL 28 Nëntor 2022
The 110th anniversary of the country's independence, for the diplomat and former ambassador of Albania to the Council of Europe, Lisen Bashkurti, finds the country in many challenges.
In "MCN live", Bashkurti, I estimate that throughout a century, the country faced many political upheavals, but it still has a lot of work to do.
"110 years in the history of Albania have not been very effective, due to the fact that Albania has been shaken by many political upheavals, by many revolutionary anarchist movements, but also by processes, very retrograde with its geo-political strategic national interests.
So these 110 years of history can be summed up in a few years, from the point of view of political, institutional, economic and social progress and success.
However, taking into account that 110 years is not a long time in the history of peoples and nations, we can say that in a century or so, Albania finally managed to create a stable state, which somehow managed to face the challenges numerous, there have been Balkan wars, Balkan crises and in all of these, Albania has had its share, but there is a lot of work to be done", said the former ambassador of Albania in his speech.
