Greece is hit by 19 consecutive earthquakes

The wave of dozens of consecutive seismic tremors that have been recorded in the early hours of this Monday has caused fear and panic among the residents around the Corinth Bay area.

Greek media reports that during the last few hours there have been continuous earthquakes with relatively low intensity, where the largest has reached 3.8 on the Richter scale.

According to the Geodynamic Institute's analysis of earthquakes, the largest tremors occurred in the early morning and had an epicenter 13 km north-northeast of Xylokastros, with a focal depth calculated at 13.4 km.

However, weaker tremors occurred both before and after the magnitude 3.8 earthquake.

It is estimated that more than 19 aftershocks have been registered in the area, which despite the low power have frightened the residents of the region.
