Opposition leaders meet with Osmani after the attack in the north, Haradinaj: Those who are endangering the region with terrorist acts should be tried

The leaders of the opposition parties in Kosovo met with the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the director of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA), Petrit Ajeti, after the attack on the Kosovo Police in Banjska on September 24.
The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, said that at the meeting he was informed about the security situation in Kosovo after the attack where Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku and three suspected attackers were killed.
"I expressed the gratitude of the Democratic League of Kosovo for everyone in the service. I also expressed the necessity of national unity in the face of the challenges that may come from Serbia, as a state that sponsors and harbors terrorists" , Abdixhiku said through a post on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, after the meeting declared to the media that it is important to have a conversation in such security situations "because the security risk continues."
He also said that there should be an international investigation for the events of September 24, as according to him, this case is "pure terrorism", accusing Serbia of being behind it.
"Serbia does not hide the fact that it sponsors, trains and has given instructions to this terrorist group. Since this is the case, it is in the interest of America and the EU to carry out an investigation and prove that Serbia is behind this attack - even though it is seen and known worldwide - but to be investigated by international investigators, with the possibility of a court, just as it happened with Kosovo [happen] also for Serbia, to try those who are endangering the region with terrorist acts" , he said.
Meanwhile, the head of the largest opposition entity, the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Memli Krasniqi, will meet with Osmani later in the day.
What happened in the north on September 24?
Kosovo police were attacked by a masked and armed group as law enforcement tried to remove barricades that had been set up on a road in the village of Banjské i Zveçani - one of four municipalities in the north, inhabited by a majority of Serbs.
The armed group then took refuge in the Banjka monastery, from where they clashed with the police throughout Sunday.
The police and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, have said that the organizer and participant of this attack was Millan Radoicic, vice president of the Serbian List - the main party of the Serbs in Kosovo, which enjoys the support of official Belgrade.
Regarding the participation of Radoicic - who is under American sanctions and wanted in Kosovo for intimidating witnesses in the court case known as Brezovica - Sweden has also published a video recorded with a drone, which it said shows the official of the Serbian List in Banjska.
Currently, four people are arrested for the events in Banjska, as the Police exhibited on September 25 weapons and other equipment that they said were confiscated in this village.
Kosovo has made Serbia responsible for the attack, while Belgrade officially blames the Kosovo Serbs.
The United States and the European Union have strongly condemned the attack and demanded that those responsible face justice. /REL
