SPAK sheds light on the two strong cases that led former mayor Vangjush Dako to prison (details)

The former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, appears on Thursday before the Anticorruption Court to get acquainted with the measure of prison arrest that was announced against him in absentia.

SPAK announced details about the two episodes that it investigated after being alerted by the reports of some residents and the democrat Ferdinand Xhaferri.

For the 11-story building, SPAK emphasizes that its construction beyond all criteria, technical conditions and illegality turned the building dangerous to live in. Due to these violations committed by other suspects, engineers, inspectors and the company's administrator, the building was easily damaged by the earthquake.

Among the dozens of documents seized, SPAK singles out three documents signed by the former mayor, in one of which he ordered the suspension of the works in the object in question and in the other approved the clearance of the permit and something like that according to SPAK, proves the knowledge of the former local official.

Even for the second episode on the "Coastal Promenade" project, SPAK emphasizes that it caused damage to the state of 18 million ALL, for which the Durrës municipality initially opened a process against the company, but then the lawyer appointed by the former mayor withdrew from the trial.

After this moment, the file shows that the municipality, despite the damage also found by the KLSH, carried out the financial liquidation against the private entity. For both episodes, the accusations of forgery and abuse of office also burden nine other people.
