The European Union condemned the violence in Zveçan - a municipality with a Serb majority in the north of Kosovo - "in the strongest possible terms".
A day earlier there, groups of Serbian protesters opposing the installation of new Albanian presidents clashed with KFOR peacekeeping forces.
At least 25 soldiers were injured, as were dozens of protesters.
"The violent acts committed against KFOR troops, the media, civilians and the police are absolutely unacceptable," said the head of the EU's foreign policy, Josep Borrell.
Through a post on Twitter, he said that the EU asks the Kosovo authorities and the protesters to "immediately and unconditionally" escalate the situation.
"We expect the parties to act responsibly and immediately find a political solution through dialogue," said Borrell./REL
