Everyone loves chocolate. But it seems that very few eat it right, as millions of people make a very common mistake.

According to food scientist Natalie Alibrandi, chocolate should not be refrigerated as the moisture levels are too high. On the contrary, the ideal temperature for storing chocolate is 18 degrees Celsius. If a chocolate crumbles or melts too quickly in your hands, then it probably hasn't been stored properly.

Additionally, when you store your chocolates in the refrigerator, you may find that their surface turns white or you may find that their flavor is altered by the odors of other foods. However, this is at least a common mistake, as a survey conducted in Britain showed that 78% of respondents keep chocolates in the fridge.

The best time for chocolate

According to Alibrand, the best time to eat chocolate is 11:00, as cocoa contains caffeine and sugar, so it should ideally be consumed before lunch. This is something that only one in five does.

According to experts, you should let the chocolate melt in your mouth and not chew it, for a more pleasant experience.

Also, scientists say that six pieces is the ideal amount to enjoy the taste of chocolate, although at least 1 in 2 admit that they do not stop eating before finishing the entire package.
