West Ham beat Fiorentina in the final, the Conference League trophy goes to England

West Ham won the Conference League trophy last night, in a final with Fiorentina, played in the Czech capital Prague and won by the English with a score of 2-1. Benrahma (62') and Bowen (90') scored for West Ham, while Giacomo Bonaventura (67') scored the only goal for Fiorentina. Thus, West Ham returned to their glory to win a first European trophy after winning the Cup Winners' Cup in 1965. The first chance in this match was scored in the 13th minute through Declan Rice. The Englishman made a good shot from a distance but it was saved by the goalkeeper of Fiorentina. The first chance for the Italians came in the 26th minute. Cristian Biraghi made a good cross into the area where he found Nikola Milenkovic who headed the ball but it was not inside the goal frame. The fifth extra minute of the first half brought a chance and a disallowed goal for Fiorentina. It was Fiorentina's Christian Kouame who made a stunning cross into the box and hit the post. The ball was returned to Luka Jovic who scored a goal but it was disallowed as the Serbian was in an offside position. West Ham started the second half much better with Jarrod Bowen narrowly missing a penalty in the 49th minute of the match. But, if he didn't do this at the beginning of the second half, he did it in the 59th minute where Biraghi removed the ball with his hand from the Englishman's arms. Only after watching the VAR was a penalty awarded to the English team, which Said Benhrama converted into a goal in the 62nd minute. But the joy of the English lasted only 5 minutes. Nikolas Gonzalez headed a pass to Giacomo Bonaventura who scored a beautiful goal to equalize the score in the 67th minute of the match. Fiorentina came very close to overturning the result if Fiorentina's Mandragora had been more accurate with his strike. West Ham had another golden opportunity with Czech Tomas Soucek squandering a golden opportunity to restore the English side's lead, although Fiorentina keeper Pietro Terraçano deserved the most credit here for denying him a goal.
